Panama’s new banking law (Decree No. 9) meets the standards of leading financial centers around the world for transparency and regulation. That is why opening a bank account in Panama is not as simple as walking into the branch and presenting funds for deposit. PanamaReferrals® has established relationships with some of Panama’s largest financial institutions, both international and domestic. We will directly refer you to banking representatives that will assist you with your banking needs. In general, the following information will be needed prior to opening an account with any Panamanian financial institution: Application form.
Account Signature Card.
Passport and a second original identification (copies of both can be presented if notarized).
A notarized bank reference from your local banking institution.
Generally, an opening amount of $500 for checking account and/or $300 for savings account.
